Getting Started


Q: What do I need to get a quote?

A: In order to get a quote for a system, you must provide as much detailed information as possible. Call Soft Servo where one of our associates will be happy to give you any information that you may need. Or e-mail us at
sales@softservo.com with the following information:

  • Company information.

  • Information on the kind of machine you are using the control for. Example: lathe, milling machine, 5 CNC axes, etc...

  • The kind of servo motors, if any, you would need. You need to supply the rated output (watts), the required power supply, encoder type, rated and maximum speeds, shaft specifications, and accessories, like brake, seal, to name a few.

  • How many and what kind of I/O will be used.

  • The kind of interface you use. Please read the information on the following: EtherCAT, RTEX, Versiobus II, or MECHATROLINK. If you have any questions, please contact sales@softservo.com.

  • Approximate volume per month or year.

Q: Do you offer a complete package? With motors and electrical cabinets?

A: Yes, Soft Servo Systems offers complete packages, but since there is an endless combination of axis motors and drives, there are too many package options to list on our website. Please call or e-mail our sales department at
sales@softservo.com.

Q: How do I become a distributor?

A: Your company would have to show that is capable of supporting the needs of Soft Servo Systems' clients. There are also area restrictions. Please contact
sales@softservo.com.

Q: Are your controls fitted for retrofits?

A: Soft Servo Systems' products are able to control any kind of machine, but the right qualified and experienced individual has to be able to integrate the CNC or GMC machine.

Q: What kind of servo motors, if any, would I need?

A: You need to find out what rated output (watts) is required, what power supply is required, the encoder type, the rated and maximum speeds, the shaft specifications, and accessories like brake, seal, etc.

Q: What kind of interface should I use?

Q: How do we decide what we need to order?

A: Customers will have to decide on a product, the number of axes required, I/O requirements, and which servo platform meets their needs. A customer may be well served by one of Soft Servo Systems' off-the-shelf products, or may need a customized product. Soft Servo Systems' sales department has the experience to help customize an order to meet specific CNC or general motion requirements.

Q: How do we get started?

A: There are trial versions of all of Soft Servo Systems' products. Please contact
sales@softservo.com to discuss obtaining a trial version.

Q: What is the difference between a trial version and a real product?

A: The trial versions do not operate actual motors. These are simulation versions that simulate motion control and display simulated position, plot, etc.
